Enroll in mobile banking:

Online banking and billpay is available on your mobile device. Enrollment is easy and secure, and the service is free (message and data rates may apply.) To enroll:

  1. Log in to desktop online banking
  2. Go to the User Services menu, under the Manage Account section, click on Mobile Enrollment
  3. Click Add Mobile Device
  4. Enter your carrier and phone number and accept the terms and conditions.
  5. Select Text (SMS) Banking or Mobile Banking or both
  6. Make a note of your activation code
  7. Your phone will receive a text message confirmation
  8. Download our app by searching "The Real Peoples Bank" on the Apple App Store or Android marketplace, or browse on your mobile phone to www.therealpeoplesbank.com/mobile
  9. Enter the activation code when prompted
  10. Use the same Access ID and Passcode you use for desktop online banking to log in to mobile banking

Frequently Asked Questions for mobile banking

Attention Business and Cash Management Online Customers:

Please see below for instructions for your first-time login to the new system. NOTE: some business customers have had difficulty with their temporary passcode. If the temporary passcode procedure below doesn't work using your Access ID and the last 4 digits of your company's Tax ID (EIN), please try using your Access ID and the last 4 digits of your personal Social Security or Tax ID number.

Creating a New Permanent Passcode:

Once you've logged into the new system using your Access ID and temporary passcode, you will be prompted to create a new permanent passcode. Be sure to enter your temporary passcode on that screen, not your old online banking password. Then enter your new passcode, using these guidelines.

Getting started with the new online banking system:

  1. "Login ID" is now called "Access ID" and "Password" is now called "Passcode"
  2. Your Login ID (now called Access ID) will change for most customers. See below for details.
  3. All passwords have been reset. You have been assigned a temporary passcode to use the first time you login to the new system. See below for details on the temporary passcodes.

For most customers, the Login ID (Access ID) has changed:

Access IDs are case sensitive. The actual letters, numbers and characters of your current Login ID will stay the same, but you MUST ENTER THE LETTERS AS ALL LOWERCASE. See the examples below.

Your password (passcode) has been reset:

The first time you access the system, you will be required to use a temporary passcode.

Your temporary passcode will be (1) your current login id (all lowercase) plus (2) the last four digits of your social security or tax id number*.

Consumer Billpay Example:

Current Login ID: JohnDoe
Tax ID: 123-45-6789

NEW Access ID: johndoe
Temporary passcode: johndoe6789

 

Business Billpay Example:

Current Login ID: marydoe
*Business Tax ID: 12-3456789
*Personal Tax ID: 987-65-4321

NEW Access ID: marydoe
Temporary passcode: marydoe6789

Example:
Temporary passcode: marydoe4321

About passcodes:

  • The temporary passcode can only be used once.
  • Once you have successfully logged in, you will be prompted to change your temporary passcode.
  • New passcodes must be
    • at least 8 characters long,
    • must contain at least 1 numeric, 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter and 1 special character (such as symbols or punctuation), and
    • cannot be the same as your Access ID.
  • You will also be prompted to answer three security challenge questions.

Quicken and QuickBooks users:

Special information for Cash Management administrators:

  • Login ID is now Access ID and password is now called passcode.
  • Cash Management administrators have a special rule for Access IDs and temporary passcodes:
    • The Access ID is the same as your old Login ID, converted to all lowercase (numbers or special characters are unchanged), plus the number "1". See the example below.
    • The temporary passcode is the new access ID, with all letters entered in lowercase as described above, plus the number "1" followed by the last four numbers of the business Tax ID (EIN). See example below.
  • If your company has more than one administrator, please contact the Business Services department at 828-464-5620 for assistance.

Current Login ID: JUDYADMIN42
*Tax ID (EIN): 12-3456789
*Personal Tax ID: 987-65-4321

Important information for business billpay customers:

  • Additions or changes you have made to your account users between February 22nd and March 18th must be re-entered.

  • Additions or changes made to your account users between February 22nd and March 18th must be re-entered.
  • Additions or changes to payees or recipients made between February 22nd and March 18th must be re-entered.
  • Companies with more than one administrator must contact the Business Services department BEFORE March 15th for assistance.
